Restaurant with a view of Swansea Bay

The restaurant at Mumbles Pier in Swansea, Wales, is a popular meeting spot for families and visitors looking to enjoy a relaxed meal with a view of Swansea Bay. It is located right on the historic Mumbles Pier, a Victorian structure that has been a landmark of the region since 1898. The restaurant, often known as part of the "Pavilion Café", combines a laid-back atmosphere with a touch of nostalgia, highlighted by the beach hut interior and elegant Victorian chandeliers. This mixture creates a welcoming environment that appeals to both locals and tourists.

Classic family-friendly dishes by the sea

The kitchen focuses on classic, family-friendly dishes that satisfy hunger after a day by the sea. The extensive breakfast menu is particularly noteworthy, freshly prepared and perfect for an energizing start to the day. For lunch or dinner, the restaurant offers traditional dishes like Fish and Chips, served with crispy batter and juicy sides – a must-have by the coast. Sweet treats like homemade ice cream with a variety of toppings are also available, inviting guests to savor the moment while breathing in the salty sea air. The ingredients are fresh and locally inspired, enhancing the flavors of the dishes.

Traditional fish and chips restaurant

In addition to the main dining area, there is also the option to order takeaway meals, such as through the "Copperfish Takeaway" located on the pier grounds. Here, one can quickly grab something delicious like freshly fried seafood to enjoy on the beach or promenade. The offering is ideal for families, as there is ample space indoors and outdoors, and the surroundings with arcade games and beach activities ensure there is never a dull moment.

We attended this pier when renovations were underway recently. Probably the worst time to go. The arcade wasn't very good, quite small and not a lot going on in there. The cafe was either ice creams or dinners which was a little weird. And to top it all off there was no St.Georges flag flying with the others. Not impressed

Always enjoyed mumbles pier but havnt been in a couple of years So paid £5 to park my car and Went to the cafe which was at the front of building and found its now a arcade had a coffee surrounded by screaming kids Found out there’s been a mysterious fire In the arcade so they’ve put some of the amusements from the arcade and filled the cafe with penny falls and grabber machines Hopefully Crazy Taxi and GTI club arcade machines escaped the ravages of the fire Was going for a walk on pier or beach but found there’s no access to pier or beach because of fire The nice old Camra listed Toby and Salty pub that’s been start or end of many a mumble mile pub crawl has been gutted and everything ripped out Where The old Cinderellas nightclub was is now a new Cafe but not as nice as the old one Nice old toilets like a castle were also closed Even the Big Apple has had a accident and now out of commission Probaly best to avoid for a year till they finish whatever plans they have the area

Very disappointing visit. Pier closed to the public. Amusement arcade burnt out. Whole area in desperate need of redevelopment. Such a shame as the setting is beautiful.

Great place, can get Joe's as the ice cream at the pier is expensive. Also once had to wait a long time just for ice cream and everyone was just standing there so I went to get a Joe's instead.

There was work on so that the pier was not accessible. But the view was stunning. Great walking area. Picnics tables, restaurants, children's play park not far away.
